It is May,
the month that birds lay an egg. But what about your creative egg? 😉 How to open the gates to creativity and make it worthwhile? Our BRAINSTORM START PLAN gives you a good start in 5 steps! After these steps the rest gets as simple as an egg (that is how Dutch people say it) .
GOOD TO KNOW:
When is a brainstorm effective for your organization? According to us, if the outcomes:
1: Solve the problem.
2: Do not deviate from the identity (if possible, strengthen the identity).
3: Give new perspectives and insights that are creatively striking / innovative.
In our roadmap all three of the above points are discussed in different ways. Metaphors generate creativity, so we use a metaphor to make the BRAINSTORM START PLAN more fun and more effective.
Our metaphor for you is: A CREATIVE TRIP.
Just like a real trip, we start packing the bag with the bag. In this case, you replace the bag with an ordner folder that you can close.
1) Keep it plain and clear. Include only the following in your travel bag:
1: The purpose of your trip (The core question in 1 rule: Formulate it well. Reflect if necessary)
2: Your bucketlist (Where the project / outcome has to be met, cut points on post-it, such as: budget € 100, -)
3: Your clothes (Who you are, What you want to radiate. In max 4 loose words. By post-it 1 word like Calm or Social)
Let go of anything else. You do not have to carry a fully stocked cutlery drawer on your back (just like a real trip) if it is not necessary. That’s just ballast for your body. In this case, too much information is too much ballast for the trip in your mind. That only blurs your thoughts and gives you a headache. Only the most important things may travel with you (purpose, bucketlist and clothes).
2) Your creative journey, the last check-up.
Just before you leave (the moment you start brainstorming) you will make some nice goals. Like you’re going to love it anyway. Be naughty, exciting, a little crazy. Promise yourself to write ‘nonsense’ 50% of the time.
3) Close your (ordner) travel bag and start!
Trust that you will remember the most important things in your suitcase. Those will stay in your mind. Throw the ‘end goal’ temporarily over the imaginary fence (don’t look at it for a while). Just like when you are on vacation, you don’t always want to think about the fact that you have to go home again. Holiday is a moment to be you and enjoy yourself. Be free! Therefore, only pick ‘who you are’ and ‘what you want to radiate’ out of your bag. Look for new things that connect with it. Things you can connect with or recognize yourself in. That may be anything. Think about it freely. Associate Free! How to get better in that free-thinking association flow? Well… (look at point 4):
4) Get ready to flow!
Did you know that when you’re moving, you think faster than to when you aren’t? Sounds quite logical right? Whether it’s a fast moving train, a flying plane or a cross-trainer, running or walking. Your thoughts will move quicker, so do not forget to carry a pen or a voice recorder with you. 😉 Or fly in your thoughts … to a vacation destination. Your (serious) work and the office have to move to the background (away). It’s about discovering and playing. Go to the places where you feel nice … Somewhere else!
5) Take full freedom in your head: STEP OUT OF THE ‘ZONE‘ – leave the planet;)
The place where everything is allowed, where nobody sees you and where anything is possible. Also dancing the lambada naked with glitters in your butthole. What a joke would that be if you fart… haha. Yes, it may be childish and crazy. It’s allowed! And now, remove all your prejudices immediately. Not just those of the outside world, but also the ones of your own. Step into your own imaginary world and ENJOY! Be free!!!
So start with a clear and free mind and a suitcase full of focus. Work slowly toward focus and let go of your brakes for a while.
NOW YOU ARE READY FOR THE START!
